All Weather Rescue Helicopter - AWRH

The All Weather Rescue Helicopter (AWRH) is a joint project between Eurocopter Germany, EADS and Diehl Avionics, funded by the German Ministry of Technology.

The target of the AWRH project is a Radar-driven mission system, which allows helicopters to fly rescue missions at almost zero visibility meterological conditions. The "single pilot" requirement triggered the development of a highly sophisticated mission system.

For the AWRH simulator and the BK-117 A4 aircraft, Stock Flight Systems developed the advanced control and display unit (CDU), the cockpit primary flight display control frames, the integrated joystick unit and the NECS-based sensor/avionics interface for the AWRH mission equipment. All AWRH subsystems are linked via CANaerospace.
